One immediately associates Florence with the name of the "de' Medici's". Under the Medici, Florence became the metropolis of the Renaissance. Serving art was part of the family philosophy. Without this family, Florence with its unique cultural and artistic treasures would not exist today. Artistic, open to new things and infinitely wealthy, the family commissioned numerous artists who are now among the most important in art history: Botticelli, Brunelleschi, Fra Angelico, Donatello, Michelangelo - the list goes on and on.
